Shark Week uses Darkest Hour to attract sharks
A group of researchers from the Discovery Channel's Shark Week program discovered that sharks respond better to heavy metal. While searching for a great white shark nicknamed "Joan of Shark," the researchers used heavy rock music to attract sharks in the area.
According to experts, the low tones of Metal and double bass drum pedals emit low frequencies that resemble the sound of dying animals. Thus, the sound of Heavy Metal sounds to sharks like a "dinner bell".
Although they didn't capture footage of "Joan Of Shark," the heavy metal of the band Darkest Hour attracted some great white sharks. Check out part of the episode:
