After a brilliant show in splendid Paris, we headed to Saarbrücken, Germany. After a 390 km drive, we arrived in the capital city of the Saarland region. Despite its peaceful, small-town atmosphere, the city hosts shows from major European tours. This is due to its convenient location (bordering France), which attracts audiences from diverse regions.
The show in Saarbrücken had a special flavor. After touring more than 14 European countries, this was the first show of the Hellish Rock tour: Part II in the land of our German friends.
It was obvious that they were all looking forward to playing at home. The interaction with the fans is different, the way to reach them is closer, even the way of dealing with the home coaches changes… In fact, it seemed like everything got even easier (laughs).
The venue for the show was Garage, which despite its name, is more like an event center for the city. Although somewhat rustic, the structure is well-made for concerts, parties, parades, corporate events, etc. Not bad, right?
For us, returning to Germany was a great pleasure. We have the utmost respect for the German school of Heavy Metal and we know that the audience is very critical, just as is the case with Finnish and Swedish fans. We took to the stage with determination precisely to show why we are accompanying Helloween and Gamma Ray on this long tour. Many bands from Brazil and even Europe would like to be in this position we are currently in. Our responsibility is very great. Warming up the fans of these two great names is not as easy as it seems. It's not just plugging in the equipment and starting to play. With each performance, we have the great responsibility to honor and show our worth, always with the aim of further expanding the name of Shadowside and winning over new fans.
However, another important fact is the legacy we left in 2010, during the tour alongside WASP. At practically every date, we encountered people who had already seen our show and came to the event just to support us, relive our performance, and buy our new merchandise (t-shirts, CDs, etc.).
The show in Saarbrücken was worthy of a grand return to the German stage. The crowd was super excited, rocking out throughout the entire setlist and welcoming us with open arms. Another great experience that the Hellish Rock tour provided us.
