After three great shows in Finland (Helsinki, Tampere, and Oulu), we hit the road to Oslo, the capital of Norway. The anticipation for this performance (like all the others – laughs) was also high. The Norwegian scene has always launched many bands, especially in extreme metal, and our debut there had to be quite impactful. We were really focused on this show, despite spending a good amount of time wandering around the ferry, buying souvenirs for our relatives and girlfriends who stayed in Brazil, and trying to access the internet at 3 am to talk to them.
The trip to Oslo wasn't so tiring. Even having to cross a good part of Sweden, this time the travel day served to relax. The most curious thing is that crossing from one country to another, it's practically imperceptible that you've entered a new nation if it weren't for the signs marking the borders. The landscape is the same, the roads are good, and the only thing that's somewhat different is the architecture of some houses… otherwise, everything is the same!
As soon as we arrived at the very traditional Rockefeller Center, the driver of the truck carrying all the equipment for the Hellish Rock tour informed us that a Brazilian tattoo artist had stopped by asking about the Brazilian band that would be playing there. Since the studio was right on the corner, we went there to check it out and invite our fellow countryman to watch the show. As soon as we returned, there were already some people waiting for us and the members of Helloween and Gamma Ray for some photos and autographs. Funny enough, after that it didn't take long for the street to be filled with people wearing black t-shirts. Just like in Brazil, people arrive early to see their favorite artist and rush desperately to the front row!
As soon as we stepped onto the stage, Rockefeller Center was already packed. Since the space between the floor and the stage is practically nonexistent, we could feel the energy of the crowd up close. The Norwegian headbangers are anything but cold and didn't stop rocking out with us. Our debut in Oslo couldn't have been better, in terms of feedback.
After our performance, we were visited by the Stay Heavy program, who recorded an interview that will be broadcast soon to promote our show on May 26th at Via Marquês in São Paulo, as well as to talk about all the experiences of the Hellish Rock tour.
Furthermore, we also had the pleasure of receiving a visit from Shady Blue, vocalist of Chrome Division, a group known for being the side project of Shagrath (Dimmu Borgir), at our merchandise stand, which, as usual, turned into chaos!
Next stop: Stockholm, Sweden.
