Shadowside in Brezno

After two amazing shows in the Czech Republic, we returned to Slovakia. The next city was the quiet town of Brezno. With a typical small-town feel, we came across another interesting ice hockey arena. The place was also one of those cauldrons, and we were impressed by the structure and the care taken to preserve the place.

The local production was the same one that handled the Hellish Rock tour's stop in Bratislava. Therefore, we knew it would be quite an event. Once again, we were treated exceptionally well, received outstanding attention in every way, and the catering was full of delicious food. If you're a show producer and want to make the Shadowside members happy, give us good food and you'll definitely have a killer show! (laughs) Because an empty stomach can't stand upright, right?! (laughs)

Our soundcheck started promptly at 6:30 PM, and since everything was practically ready, we finalized the technical details and stayed in the dressing room, concentrating before going on stage. As our first show in Slovakia was very exciting, our anticipation for this one was even higher.

Knowing that many people who attended the show in the Slovakian capital would be traveling to Brezno, we decided to change the setlist. We swapped “Inner Monster Out” for “Hideaway,” and this substitution had an impressive effect. We noticed that more people were singing along with us and getting excited too. A sign that the Bratislava show was truly a success.

The audience once again put on a show of their own, and the feedback afterward, at our merchandising table, was even better. The Slovak people are very welcoming, warm, and, as always, there were lots of photos, autographs, and laughter.

Next destination: Krakow, Poland.
