Temple of the Dog's classic "Hunger Strike" has received a beautiful new version performed by Sevendust Lajon Witherspoon and the band Daughtry. Proceeds from the song will benefit the organization Feeding America.

In the track, Lajon Witherspoon takes over the vocals that were Eddie Vedder in the original version, while Chris Daughtry sings the verses that belonged to Chris Cornell . “Chris Cornell is one of the voices that captured my heart and made me want to be a rock singer,” says Daughtry. “'Hunger Strike' is one of the most iconic rock duets of our generation. It's the 90s delivered in one song!”

Temple of the Dog was a supergroup formed by Chris Cornell and Matt Cameron ( Soundgarden ), Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament ( Mother Love Bone ), Mike McCready , and Eddie Vedder . "Hunger Strike" is part of the band's first and only album, self-titled and released in 1990.
