Sevendust has confirmed that they will release their 13th studio album on October 23rd. Titled Blood & Stone , the album will feature twelve new tracks and a cover of Soundgarden's "The Day I Tried to Live".
Speaking about the choice of cover band, vocalist Lajon Witherspoon explained: “Soundgarden is such an important band for all of us in Sevendust, and that love for them comes from when we were just starting out.”
“When I first heard it, I thought the lyrics were timeless. The lyrics are about trying new things and changing the way you live, and we see examples of that every day with what’s happening around the world. Having the chance to cover this song and release it is very special for all of us. Thank you, Chris Cornell and Soundgarden.”
Blood & Stone was produced by Michael “Elvis” Baskette, who has previously worked with Alter Bridge and Slash, and its cover art has already been released – see below.
