Serj Tankian , vocalist of System of a Down , will release a new solo EP called Foundations in September 2024.
The album will have five tracks, which were recorded with FCC , Serj's backing band. The first single, "AF Day," will be released on May 17th.

Serj Tankian said the EP is a retrospective of what he never released. "It's an interesting retrospective of rock music I never released at different times, and it's called ' Foundations ' basically because it's the foundation of my musical life."
The musician went on to explain that the songs are quite different from each other, one being heavier, another progressive, but despite the different elements in each one, he believes they all work together.
Among the five songs, there is an unreleased track from the early days of System of a Down and some from his solo period that didn't fit on the album Elect The Dead (2007).
For now, Serj Tankian has only released a teaser for the single "AF Day," check it out:

Serj is currently promoting his autobiography, Down With The System , scheduled for release on May 14th by Hachette Books .
In addition to being the lead singer of System of a Down, Serj is a composer, social activist, painter, poet, and award-winning filmmaker.
In an interview with Paul Brannigan of Metal Hammer , the singer said that the concept for the EP emerged while he was writing what he calls "accidentally conceived philosophical memoirs" and had a different perspective on the music he had made at different times in his career.
