Serj Tankian releases official music video for “I'm Counting On You”

Serj Tankian , vocalist of System of a Down , released the official music video for "I'm Counting On You" last Friday, the 5th. The track, originally recorded by Irishman Chris De Burgh , is the second single from Covers, Collaborations & Collages , new solo album . "Electric Dreams," the album's first single, is already available on digital platforms.

The official release will take place on October 24, 2025, via Serjical Strike Records/Create Music Group . The ten-track album features special appearances by DJ deadmau5 , New Zealand singer Bic Runga , and Spanish singer Lucas Vidal.

In addition, it also features a cover of "When Death Arrives" by Armenian artist Ruben Hakhverdyan . A new track will be released each week until the full album is released.

In a video published on his YouTube channel, Serj Tankian explained the concept of his new solo album: “These are archival recordings, some very old. I wanted to release an album with collaborations that I hadn't released yet, along with covers that I hadn't done yet. The rest, the collages, are pieces that fit into the puzzle with the same tone, the same vibe,” he stated [transcription via Blabbermouth ].
