The musician sang “Like a Stone” with the group.
Last Tuesday, the 20th, Prophets of Rage paid a beautiful tribute to singer Chris Cornell, who passed away in May 2017.
During a show in Auckland, New Zealand, the supergroup invited Serj Tankian, frontman of System Of A Down, to join them on stage and sing "Like a Stone," a classic from Audioslave.
“We recently lost a great friend, Chris Cornell. Please, let’s use this moment to acknowledge him,” said Tom Morello before introducing the track, “ We miss him very much and want to make this song in his honor .” And so Serj Tankian took to the stage and joined Morello, Tim Commerford, and Brad Wilk, Cornell’s former colleagues from Audioslave.
Chris Cornell recorded three studio albums with the band between 2002 and 2006 before the trio formed Rage Against the Machine. The singer joined the group in January 2017, just a few months before his death, for a show and revealed he was open to the idea of recording a new album under the name Audioslave.
