Last Friday, the 21st, Serj Tankian released his new solo EP, Perplex Cities . Unlike his previous project, Elasticity (2021) , which was composed of discarded System of a Down , the new EP sought to chart new sonic paths.

In a statement, Tankian explains: “This entire collection of songs within Perplex Cities brings a completely different sound than what I’ve done before. More electronic, subtle, and deep in its layers of presentation. It emits a unique and distinct aura from my previous releases.”

Further expanding the EP experience, each track from Perplex Cities was made available prior to the official release through a free augmented reality experience offered by the Arloopa .
