Recently, Serk Tankian , vocalist of System of a Down , released a 24-minute instrumental piece called “Disarming Time: A Modern Piano Concerto”. This Thursday, the 8th, Tankian released the official video of the new version of the piece, complete with the artist's poetry.
The poetic version of “Disarming Time” is part of a new project by Serj Tankian called Cool Gardens Poetry Suite . The collection consists of 4 musical pieces by Tankian interwoven into a recital of prose taken from his first book of poetry, Cool Gardens . In total, Tankian narrates 87 of his poems during 48 minutes of music, and the complete project will be available from this Friday, July 9th.
The Cool Gardens Poetry Suite will be accompanied by videos by visual artist David Bradford , who has previously collaborated with Serj Tankian on other projects and is also responsible for the video for “Disarming Time: A Modern Piano Concerto (With Poetry)”, which you can see here:
