Serj Tankian , vocalist of System of a Down , released this Friday, the 18th, a 24-minute instrumental piece titled Disarming Time: A Modern Piano Concerto . The release comes through his own label, Serjical Strike Records, with a video made by the musician.
This new release follows the acclaimed EP Elasticity , which was released in March of this year. Disarming Time: A Modern Piano Concerto was created during the pandemic, after a challenge the musician set himself to bring together some ideas he hadn't yet released.
“I’m incredibly excited to share this unique musical work. During the lockdown period, when all our releases and projects were canceled or paused, I challenged myself to bring together countless unreleased musical ideas into a long 24-minute modern piano concerto, with instrumentation ranging from classical to modern. It’s a unique journey for which I created a personal video,” he said on social media when sharing the work.
