System Of A Down vocalist Serj Tankian has released a new song titled "Hayastane." The previously unreleased track features lyrics by Nikol Pashinyan , the Prime Minister of Armenia.
“During these difficult times of pandemic and lockdown, we wanted to give the people of Armenia a gift of hope that they themselves can share with the world. The goal was to write a song that represented a victorious celebration of the Armenian spirit, covering the past, present and future of our nation,” says Tankian, who will donate 100% of the profits from the song to the NGO My Step in Armenia.
Regarding the chosen NGO, the musician explains, “The NGO My Step is an incredible charity that leads many significant initiatives in Armenia, focusing on public health, education, culture, social welfare, the environment, and other sectors in need, including the current crisis surrounding COVID-19.” Yet another incredible initiative from music idols that we need right now!
