See the statement.

With System Of A Down posting videos from the studio and confirming tour dates for 2017, rumors of a new album from the band – which hasn't released anything since 2005 – are growing stronger. Serj Tankian, however, told LA Weekly that there's no guarantee there will be a new album.

Tankian says the band is working separately on new compositions, but that they should get together in the future: “We’ll get together and see if there will be new songs or not. And who knows? If there are, great, if not, that’s great too.”

Some people say, 'Stop it, you idiot, go make a new album with System and stop talking about politics, stop making your art.' There will always be these tough guys.

If you enjoy recording the same rock album for the rest of your life, go ahead. But I don't.
