Serj Tankian , vocalist of System Of A Down , and Vincent Pedulla composed the original music for the Netflix documentary series Hitler and the Nazis: Evil on Trial . The series premiered in Brazil on June 5, 2024, and is now available exclusively on Netflix .
According to the website Blabbermouth , the series is directed by Joe Berlinger , also known for "Paradise Lost," "The Ted Bundy Tapes," and "Metallica: Some Kind of Monster." The relationship between the director and Tankian is not new. The singer has appeared in the documentary series Madoff: The Monster of Wall Street , as well as in Crime Scene: The Texas Killing Fields & The Times Square Killer .
This documentary-style miniseries depicts the rise of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime. It covers the periods from before World War I to the Nuremberg Trials, including the Holocaust. The series also explores the testimony of journalist William L. Shirer .
Through the use of rare archival material and recreations, the work offers a new perspective on the events and understanding of the environment that allowed the rise of the Nazis, highlighting the connections between the hatred of the past and the current threats of authoritarianism and racism.

In a free translation, the vocalist's excerpt says:
"It was truly an honor to be invited by my good friend Joe Berlinger to work on the soundtrack for the upcoming Netflix : 'Hitler and the Nazis: Evil on Trial'."
“Co-composer Vincent Pedulla and I were invited by Joe to produce music based on culturally relevant Jewish folk compositions and songs, including some written in ghettos and camps during the Holocaust.”
The singer also included a clip of the film's soundtrack in the post, stating: "What you're hearing now is one of those compositions with the finishing touches, added in the orchestral arrangements."
The singer concludes: “This was a very meaningful project to participate in and I'm looking forward to the series premiere.”
