Serj Tankian , vocalist of System of a Down , has announced his new solo album , Covers, Collaborations & Collages . The release is scheduled for October 24, 2025, via Serjical Strike Records/Create Music Group .
The ten-track album features special appearances by DJ deadmau5 , New Zealand singer Bic Runga, and Spanish singer Lucas Vidal. It also includes covers of "I'm Counting On You" by Irish artist Chris De Burgh and "When Death Arrives" by Armenian artist Ruben Hakhverdyan .
The first single, “Electric Dreams,” is now available on digital platforms. A new track will be released each week until the full album is released.
In a video published on his YouTube channel, Serj Tankian explained the concept of his new solo album: “These are archival recordings, some very old. I wanted to release an album with collaborations that I hadn't released yet, along with covers that I hadn't done yet. The rest, the collages, are pieces that fit into the puzzle with the same tone, the same vibe,” he stated [transcription via Blabbermouth ].
