And there was metal during prime time at Lollapalooza Brazil 2025 ! The giants Sepultura brought their farewell tour to the Mike's Ice stage at the end of the day – sharing the time slot with headliner Justin Timberlake . An absolute and undeniable reference in Brazilian metal, the band attracted rockers who went to the event to also enjoy bands like Tool and Bush .

At 9:30 PM, the band ignited the last of the remaining energy in the rock fans who were at Lollapalooza on this final day. Titãs' "Polícia" paved the way for the first song of the night, the classic "Refuse/Resist," followed by "Territory." Three mosh pits quickly formed among the crowd that filled the small hill by the Mike's Ice stage.

The band makes ample use of Brazilian originality, present in almost all of their work: the percussion and sounds that are elements of indigenous culture complement the heaviness of the music in a special way. “Desperate Cry,” from the album Arise (1991), was played for the first time since 2019, adding even more brutality—if that were possible—to the performance. “Kairos” and “Attitude” accompanied the explosion of energy in the audience, who cheered Sepultura at every pause between songs.

“Kaiowas” is known for being one of the highlights of the night on this tour: on stage, fans, friends, and special guests—that night we had Junior Lima and Perry Farrell , vocalist of Jane's Addiction and creator of Lollapalooza—playing drums alongside Derrick Green , the vocalist. Closing the night, the classics “Ratamahatta” and “Roots Bloody Roots” were used in a combined and symbolic way. Sepultura is from Brazil.

Amid two other days filled with one-hit wonders and TikTok stars, the final day of Lollapalooza featured the power of Brazilian women in rock like Giovanna Moraes and the band Charlotte Matou um Cara , the hermetic journey of Tool , and the heaviness of Sepultura . With an engaged audience, the end of Sunday was like a surge of energy and showed that there is still room for heavy music.
