Sepultura Endurance will be released between October and November

Sepultura Endurance, a documentary about the Brazilian thrash metal band, will be released on DVD and Blu-ray. The video, which premiered worldwide in May 2017 in Los Angeles, shows the band's history from its beginnings. It's full of rare footage and interviews with metal icons such as Lars Ulrich of Metallica, Scott Ian of Anthrax, and Corey Taylor of Slipknot.

In an interview with Mammoth Metal TV, guitarist Andreas Kisser said: “We have plans to release Sepultura Endurance along with a Rock In Rio show we did last year, which was very complete, with songs from Machine Messiah, where we presented a special stage and invited violinists, musicians and other things. It was very cool and interesting. And the plan is to put all of that together on a CD, DVD, Blu-ray package, to be released in October or November. That's the plan, but now we're also trying to get to Netflix and other similar platforms before the film is released on DVD and Blu-ray, but we'll see what happens. We have really good possibilities. And it's a great documentary – we're very happy, despite all the difficult aspects of making a documentary like this. But it turned out great.”

Former Sepultura members Max and Igor Cavalera have denied permission to the producers of Sepultura Endurance to use the band's older songs. Director Otávio Juliano told Folha de S. Paulo that he couldn't even use Sepultura's early songs being played by the current version of the band, which includes vocalist Derrick Green and drummer Eloy Casagrande.

Sepultura continues touring in support of their latest album, Machine Messiah , released in January 2017 by Nuclear Blast.
