The Sepultura Black Pantera opening , scheduled for this Saturday, the 24th, in Ribeirão Preto, was hastily cancelled due to the wildfires in the region. The band announced the cancellation briefly through social media.

According to the presenter, interviewer, and columnist for Kiss FM, Zé do Rock , the event's production company confirmed that the cancellation was due to a fire outbreak near Alcans Hall, where the show was to take place.

“Some people had already gone inside, Black Pantera was doing a soundcheck, [but] there are no conditions to have the show. Too dangerous. It was canceled mainly for the safety of the entire audience,” comments the presenter who resides in Ribeirão Preto.

According to G1 , since last Thursday (22), cities in the interior of São Paulo have been suffering from the worsening of climatic conditions due to the accumulation of fires in the region. The state of São Paulo recorded more than 2,300 fires between Thursday and Friday (23); a number 7 times greater than that recorded in the entire month of August 2023.

Through social media, Sepultura advised fans to stay home and promised more information about the cancellation soon.
