The beginning of the story of Sepultura , one of the most prestigious Brazilian bands in the world, was recorded by Silvio “Bibika” Gomes , the group's first manager, alongside journalist André Barcinski in a book. After years out of print, the work will be re-released in Brazil.
It's been missing from the market for two decades, but Sepultura: Os Primórdios (1984-1998) is back from Editora Estética Torta with a deluxe reissue, featuring a hardcover, premium finish, and exclusive images. "What success could a group called Sepultura achieve with a guitarist who plugged his instrument into a pickup activated by a light switch, a drummer who hung a cymbal from a broomstick, and a musician who joined the band simply because he had a brand-new bass, even though he couldn't play a single note?" asks the synopsis.
To answer this question and write the book, the authors spent 18 months interviewing more than 60 people connected to Sepultura, uncovering the truths behind some myths built around the band. In this endeavor, they managed to gather more than 100 photos for the publication, most of them previously unpublished.
Still in the pre-sale period, copies will be shipped to the public starting November 15th. See the cover below.
