Sepultura announced this Friday, the 4th, that they will release a live album inspired by SepulQuarta , a program created by the band during the pandemic to present songs from their most recent album Quadra and collaborate with friends and fellow artists.
SepulQuarta, the album, will be released on August 13th in double LP and CD formats, as well as a digital edition. The work will have 15 tracks and 19 guest artists. These songs are part of a compilation of 28 songs that the group played with members of bands such as Anthrax, Megadeth, Paralamas do Sucesso, System of a Down, Testament and Titãs , among others.
With cover art depicting flowers sprouting from the body of a dead bird, created by Eduardo Recife , the album SepulQuarta is getting a worldwide release, with distribution in Latin America via BMG Brasil.
The album's first single was released to celebrate the announcement. "Mask," a re-recording of the song from the album Kairos (2011), was revived in a live performance with Devin Townsend, a Canadian progressive metal star. Listen to the song below.
SepulQuarta series , as the name suggests, took place every Wednesday since April 2020. The weekly live streams featured chats, jam sessions, interactions with fans and special guests.
