Sepultura confirmed for Virada Cultural 2025 with a free show in São Paulo. The performance will take place on May 25th at 6 PM at Palco Butantã, in the west side of the city (via Igor Miranda ).

The official announcement was made this Tuesday, the 13th, on the Instagram account of the Municipal Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy. Since then, the post has gained prominence, mainly for promising other rock attractions.

Sepultura and other bands

As part of their farewell tour, Celebrating Life Through Death , Sepultura's show joins a series of events taking over the city for 24 hours. In addition to the band, the Virada Cultural lineup includes names representing different generations of rock and alternative music.

For example, the band Boogarins will perform the live soundtrack for the film Bacurau in special sessions at Sesc Belenzinho on May 24th and 25th. At the same time, singer Otto Otto Apocalíptico to Sesc Pinheiros . Meanwhile, Pato Fu will perform at Sesc Pompeia, celebrating more than 30 years of their career.

Meanwhile, at Sesc Itaquera, Paulo Miklos will be performing classics from Titãs and solo hits on the 25th. Additionally, on Saturday the 24th, Black Pantera presents the show Perpétuo , with special appearances by Clemente ( Inocentes ), Cannibal ( Devotos ), and Natália Matos ( Punho de Mahin ).

Expansion to the periphery

In contrast to the event's traditional centralized presence, the 2025 edition expands its reach to peripheral neighborhoods. Totó Parente , the municipal secretary of Culture and Creative Economy, states that this is a movement towards the democratization of art: "Our strategy is also to bring big names in music to the periphery with their shows."

With this, the event aims to democratize access to culture. In this way, more people will be able to enjoy a rich program without having to travel to the city center.

Over 800 attractions in 24 hours

In total, the 2025 Virada Cultural will feature more than 800 free attractions. The event starts at 6 pm on Saturday the 24th and ends at 6 pm on Sunday the 25th. Therefore, those who intend to enjoy the shows should plan ahead.
