The band Semblant has announced the cancellation of their opening acts for Epica in Brazil next weekend, following a controversy involving vocalist Mizuho Lin .
Last week, the group announced the singer's removal from the group following the negative reaction to a series of videos posted by the singer on her personal profile, in which Mizuho commented on the blockades on federal highways organized by supporters of the current president, Jair Bolsonaro .
The singer showed support for calls for military intervention in light of the presidential election results. “This request [for military intervention] should have been made a long time ago. The pro-Bolsonaro demonstrations should have made this request, but the stupid people didn't ask for it, and now, after the elections, after the results, they want to get all worked up?”, said Mizuho. Initially, Semblant announced that they would proceed with their commitment to open for Epica in Brazil without Mizuho Lin. This week, however, the band announced the cancellation of the shows, which were scheduled to take place in São Paulo, at Audio, on November 19th (Saturday), and in Curitiba, at Ópera de Arame, on November 20th (Sunday).
“We chose to prioritize the safety and well-being of everyone, both the public and the band, given the scale of the recent situation. We hope for everyone's understanding and that they enjoy the event,” Semblant informed.
