The lead singer had his leg amputated.
Steve Grimmett's wife, who has been updating the public on news about the Grim Reaper vocalist, spoke in an interview with The Metal Voice about the musician's health. Grimmett had to have his leg amputated last week while on tour in South America.
Millie Grimmett said that although Steve had travel insurance, the company will not cover the costs of the amputation surgery, which cost $6,000. An official crowdfunding campaign has been started to help with the costs, raising $460 so far. Click here to see the initiative.
Steve Grimmett released a message to fans: “I would like to thank my bandmates and our fans for their support.” The vocalist remains in the hospital in Ecuador and is expected to return home this week.
