In this week's Wikimetal poll, Metallica " was voted the best guitar riff, with 20% of the votes. Guns N' Roses' "Sweet Child O' Mine" came in second (16%), and Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" in third (15%).
James Hetfield said the idea for the song came to him while listening to Diamond Head's "Dead Reckoning." Hetfield says he wrote the riff in his car, outside the factory where he worked.
Seek & Destroy is the third most played song live in Metallica's history, having been played 1,343 times. Only Creeping Death (1,367) and Master of Puppets (1,416) are ahead of it.
