In 1992, Skid Row , then led by Sebastian Bach , had their tour opening acts performed by Pantera that year.
In a recent interview with the Australian website Sense Music Media [via Blabbermouth ], the vocalist recalled what the tour was like. According to him, the shows were "crazy," and at one point, the musicians were even kicked out of a hotel in Philadelphia.
“I remember being on the bus arriving in Philadelphia, we got a call and they said, ‘We’ve been kicked out of the hotel.’ I said, ‘What do you mean? I haven’t even gotten there yet. How can I be kicked out if I haven’t arrived?’ And they said, ‘Well, Dimebag [Darrell] and Snake [Dave Sabo] took acid.’”
Bach also revealed that Dime had "stabbed a sofa" in the hotel lobby due to the effects of the drug. According to the musician, it was a "different time."
"I mean, that's really old; hey, kids don't have any ideas; it was a different time — but they said, 'Dimebag took a knife and stabbed the couch in the hotel lobby.' All I could say was, 'Damn, man.' So, there are some pretty crazy stories like that. But he didn't stab anybody — just the couch."
Sebastian Bach had previously recalled touring with Pantera.
In 2015, on the Australian show The Morning Show , Bach declared that Pantera was the "craziest" band to tour with. While he warmed up with vocal exercises, they drank shots of whiskey.
“I warm up my voice by doing scales — and all those boring vocal exercises — and they were downing 14 shots of Crown Royal [whiskey] 'We're ready! Let's go!'”
