Sean Kennedy , known for his work as bassist for the metalcore band I Killed The Prom Queen , has died at the age of 35. The cause of death is still unknown.
The artist, who joined the band shortly after its formation, was featured on the group's 2003 debut album, When Goodbye Means Forever… , and on Music For The Recent Deceased (2006). He also participated in the group's 2005 EP, Your Past Comes Back To Haunt You .
Kennedy left the band in 2013 and was replaced by Benjamin Coyte , who stayed with the band until their last album, Beloved (2014). After his departure, the artist became a full member of Deez Nuts , a band he had been a part of since 2008, and remained a member until his death. He appeared on four of the band's albums: Stay True , Word Is Bond , Binge & Purgatory , and, most recently, You Got Me Fucked Up from 2019.
“For years we stood side-by-side on stage or in band photos. We slept on the floor, in vans, on planes, and somehow managed to travel the world. Time flew by,” wrote I Killed The Prom Queen vocalist Michael Crafter . “We went through highs and lows on the road, and after everything we’ve been through, you’ll always be my friend. Over the years, I’m glad we’ve always been there for each other. When I called you last week, I didn’t think it would be the last time. I wish I could say goodbye. I love you and will always miss you, my friend.”
Rest in peace, Sean.
