Noah Weiland has used a demo featuring vocals by his father Scott Weiland , the lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots . The new song is called "Time Will Tell." According to Noah, the decision to release it now is due to blackmail he suffered. Besides Stone Temple Pilots, Scott was also the lead singer of Velvet Revolver and died in 2015 from an accidental overdose.
Noah told Rolling Stone that Scott, before his death, was working on a demo of the song but was unable to finish it. This year he received messages threatening to leak this version online if he wasn't paid $2,000.
Noah wants his solo career to be independent of Scott Weiland.
Noah Weiland launched his solo career and released an alternative pop single called “Yesterday” in 2023. In an interview with Rolling Stone , he said he doesn't want to be known as a nepo baby: “I always get annoyed when people say that kind of thing. My father had millions in debt when he died. My mother always had a regular job. And actually, even if my father's estate is debt-free, I don't even want that money. I want to make a career out of myself, as much as possible.”
But before pursuing a solo career, Noah was briefly in a rock band. The group, called Suspect208 , consisted of Slash , London Hudson, on drums, Robert Trujillo , Tye , on bass, and Noah on vocals. However, he was kicked out of the band due to alleged drug abuse. Check out the song Noah produced using his father's demo below.
