Guitarist responds to Belladonna's comments
Anthrax guitarist Ian Ian responded to comments made by Joey Belladonna this week, saying he doesn't have friends in the band. In an interview with a Cleveland radio station, Ian explained that when they're on tour, the band hangs out together all the time.
“On tour, we hang out a lot. But Frankie Bello lives in New York, Charlie Benante in Chicago, I live in Los Angeles, Joey lives further north in New York, and Jon Donais also lives in Los Angeles. So when we're not on tour, we don't hang out together much, but that's nothing new.” The guitarist explained that when not on tour, everyone wants to spend time with other friends and family.
Regarding the members' relationship, Ian says: "Personally, in terms of friendship, the band is in the best state it's been in a long time." The guitarist also took the opportunity to praise Belladonna during the interview: "He completed the band. He was the missing piece of the puzzle."
Earlier in the week, Belladonna said in an interview that she had never found her place in Anthrax, and that the band wasn't her friend.
