Musician lists the bands he would like to see
In an interview at the Alcatraz festival last month, Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian spoke about reunions of major metal bands. He was referring to Twisted Sister, who had announced their upcoming tour as their last:
"I believe this is their last tour and their last show, but who knows? If in two years they get big offers to play at some festival somewhere and they're not doing anything, it's quite possible they'll play again. But it would be cool to see a band say that and then not actually come back."
“You know, money talks. If you really want to be honest, that’s the only reason any band gets back together. Especially if they’re a stadium-filling band. You know, the only other band besides the Beatles that didn’t get back together, and only did one show, was Led Zeppelin. They only did that one show at the O2, but they had offers. There are offers out there for insane amounts of money, as you can imagine. And they didn’t do it. For some reason, I don’t think Jimmy and Robert are too concerned about their finances.”.
Ian doesn't blame the bands that reunite in the end: “If you can go out and fill stadiums around the world, and it's going to last a year of your life, why not? It's going to do it, how could that not be fun?”
In the end, Scott Ian lists the bands he'd like to see reunite: “If Led Zeppelin announced tomorrow that they were going on tour, we'd all go. In a second, we'd all be at that show. As a fan, I'd love to see David Gilmour and Roger Waters together again. There are many bands I'd love to see. I never thought Faith No More would come back, they did. Steve Perry back in Journey. Why not? Again. I'd love to see Peter Criss back in Kiss. There, I said it. One more time.”
