Taking advantage of Metallica's performance with pop star Lady Gaga at this year's Grammy Awards, Anthrax guitarist and founder Scott Ian stated that he would be interested in a possible collaboration with her:
“Yes, we would love to work with Lady Gaga, the band even considered it some time ago, before the announcement of the Grammy performance with Metallica, which by the way, I thought she was amazing that day ,” declared Ian.
"Wow, I would love to hear her voice on a Rock or Metal record. And our drummer Charlie (Benante) ended up meeting her at a show and they became friends. And she knows everything about Anthrax and Metallica and all those bands. She's a headbanger and that makes it even cooler, the fact that she knows this world, that she understands this world, and that she sings incredibly well in this type of music.".
James Hetfield is not interested in collaborating with Lady Gaga
“We would love to write a song together, or a whole album. We could be her studio band. Let us be your studio band, Lady Gaga! We can make really good music together!” , concludes the guitarist.
