Scott Ian of Anthrax is a guitar hero to many. Even with decades in the business, the musician still has a very strong fan side, especially with Rudolf Schenker , founder of the Scorpions .
In an interview on the program "Por Dentro" with Paulo Baron and Regis Tadeu , the guitarist explained that he doesn't try to hide the admiration he feels for his idols. "I don't try to balance it; what happens, happens. These things move me, and you should allow yourself to feel them," he explained. "That's one of the main reasons why I enjoy life. Things touch me, they move me."

Scorpions shows has a special meaning for Ian, as his first inspiration for playing rhythm guitar was Schenker. “Meeting my heroes, like Rudolf Schenker … He’s one of the reasons I play guitar and the reason my stage presence [is like that] is because I watched him,” he continued. “What this guy does… He doesn’t play solos, he doesn’t sing, yet everyone is looking at him. He dominates the stage! Matthias [Jabs] comes on to do a solo, but everyone looks at Rudolf.”
Scott believes he would get used to his idol's presence if he had more opportunities. “But I can’t help myself. When I’m with a guy like him, I look back and think about all the shows I’ve seen and all the wonderful moments of my life listening to his music,” he reflected. “I can’t help but get excited around people like that.”
