Scott Devours is the new drummer for The Who , following the turbulent departure of former drummer Zak Starkey.

The band posted the announcement of the new drummer on their social media : “ Scott Devours Roger [ Daltrey 's solo band , will be joining The Who for our final shows. Please give him a warm welcome.”

Last Monday, the 19th, Scott Devours shared his happiness with his new position on his social media:

“Yesterday [Sunday, May 18th], with a short and simple Instagram post, Pete and Roger, once again, changed my life forever. It’s difficult to express the tsunami of emotions I’m processing since that incredible news, but there are a few things I feel compelled to say.”

Scott Devours promises to live up to expectations.

“The first thing I need to thank is all the family, friends, and fans for the countless messages, texts, and emails congratulating me and sharing their joy. The amount of positivity I received was overwhelming; I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. The second is that I understand and accept the reality that there are many long-time fans of The Who. And that they are absolutely devastated by the news that Zak is no longer on the throne behind The Who.”

The drummer also promises to live up to expectations: “The weight of this responsibility is enormous, and I’m feeling every drop of it. What I want to say to all the fans is that I will do everything I can to honor the legacy of The Who. Of Zak, Kenney Jones, Simon Phillips, and the memory of the great Keith Moon. Just having my name mentioned in a sentence like that gives me chills, and I know I need to deserve this honor. As this is the last time Pete and Roger will tour the US playing the best songs ever written, I will give them every second of my time. Every beat of my heart and every drop of my sweat and blood. This is my ultimate goal.”

The Who announces farewell tour.

Currently, The Who surprised fans by announcing, last Thursday, May 8th, the band's farewell tour, The Song Is Over – The North American Farewell Tour , scheduled for the second half of 2025.

The tour will visit countries such as the United States and Canada, marking a grand finale to an illustrious career spanning more than six decades.
