Scorpions is waiting for the "right moment" to work on the successor to their 2022 Rock Believer

In a new interview on the Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk , vocalist Klaus Meine and guitarists Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs joined forces to talk about new music. Rudolf Schenker said [transcription via Blabbemouth ]:

“If Klaus has enough lyrics for us to work with, because that was a really good idea when we did 'Rock Believer'. Klaus came, for the first time, with a package of lyrics like that and said: 'Rudolf, look inside, what can you find? Maybe there's something.' And I was in a studio in Thailand driving around. Making some demos, bringing our sound engineer. And I managed to put everything in order and send it to the guys. Today, everything is possible to understand what the songs represent. And I think this new way of working and composing is great, because if you get into a routine, you end up going in a boring direction. But if you have a lyric and you know: 'Ah, this is great', that's fantastic.”

Next, Klaus commented: “I sent some new lyrics to Rudolf a while ago, but I still haven’t received a response.”

Then, Rudolf clarified: “He sent me a lyric. A song. And the song was supposed to be a really killer track. But the thing is, you need to find the right rhythm. That’s the important point… But I think the right time will come. On the other hand, ‘Still Loving You’ waited seven and a half years until the band was ready to play it. Because Uli Jon Roth didn’t want to play it because it was too much… I don’t know what. We talked about it, but it wasn’t the right time… And then we finally recorded it. That was the moment when everyone was ready to do it, and that’s the important point: to have patience, to wait long enough.”

The Scorpions' involvement in the project

Previously, in an interview with Rolling Stone Brazil , vocalist Klaus Meine spoke about the band's involvement in the project and their expectations for the start of filming.

The film is being developed by ESX Entertainment, an independent production company led by Ali Afshar , who is also an actor and former race car driver. According to Meine, the project is in the hands of a producer who “has a true passion for rock and the history of the Scorpions. He also wants to create not a documentary, but a fictional film inspired by the trajectory of the German band. “He wants to tell the band's story with heart and soul,” said Klaus. “We are involved in the script and also helped choose the actors. It's not easy to find five Brad Pitts to play us, but we are following everything with enthusiasm.”
