Scorpions promised and delivered a powerful, nostalgic, and energetic album in Rock Believer , their nineteenth studio album and first of new material since Return to Forever (2015), released this Friday, the 25th.

Recorded during the pandemic, the project suffered some delays due to the health restrictions of the period, but the final result did not slow down even with the impossibility of working with Greg Fidelman , a producer known for his work with Slipknot .

With only one ballad on the 14-song tracklist, the brilliant and emotive "When You Know (Where You Come From)", the project hit the bullseye in finding the "DNA of Scorpions" , inspired by the band's albums in the 1980s, with nods to previous decades, without losing relevance in the current scene.

From stadium anthems like “Peacemaker” and “Rock Believer ,” to darker tracks like “Seventh Sun” and the frenetic, unstoppable rock of “When I Lay My Bones to Rest” and “Shoot For Your Heart,” Klaus Meine ’s certainty that rock n’ roll “is alive and well” is translated into almost two hours of music on the album, with impeccable work alongside Rudolf Schenker , Matthias Jabs , and Pawel Maciwoda .

After 50 years on the road, and now with the "powerhouse" Mikkey Dee on drums, Scorpions continue to prove why they have earned an irrevocable place in the history of rock and world music – and the band is more alive than ever.
