Klaus Meine had previously mentioned that retirement was not in the immediate plans for Scorpions , but the musician has now confirmed that the word doesn't even exist in the band's vocabulary.
After a failed attempt to hang up their guitars in 2010, Scorpions seem to have officially given up on planning an end to their career – much to the delight of fans. “We’ve crossed that word out of our vocabulary,” Meine said in an interview with Metal Global . “[Retirement] doesn’t exist. We don’t think about it, we don’t talk about it, and we take it one day at a time.”
After being away from the stage for two years due to the pandemic, one might expect Scorpions to want an even longer break, but the feeling of being in front of the fans again is "too good," according to Klaus.
“We know that the road ahead is much shorter than the one we have already traveled. And we never underestimate that – we never underestimate our success. We work hard at what we do because we still love it and we still enjoy it,” said Klaus Meine.
“We don’t know what the future will bring. You never know what’s waiting for you around the next corner. But, for now, life is good. We have a great new album and we’re having a lot of fun. We enjoy it,” he concluded.
