The Scorpions announced their final tour in 2010, however, it did not happen. Mikkey Dee dismisses retirement plans and sees a long future for his band. In an interview with Chaoszine , when asked how long the group would continue, he replied [ via Blabbermouth ] : “The guys are in great shape. As long as everyone is healthy and loves touring and playing, they can go on forever.”
This type of question isn't unique to Scorpions; the drummer also heard it during his time in Motörhead . “People ask that question: how long can you keep going? We heard that with Motörhead all the time. I play with old bands [laughs]. I'm old too. And I'll be 60 this year, on Halloween [October 31st]. But, no, it's really impossible to answer that question.”
He concluded: “As long as everyone loves what they do and is healthy, of course, there’s no reason to stop, because I personally think we sound better today than ever before. And Scorpions may have had a bit more swing for a while back in the early to mid-80s – Blackout , World Wide Live , performed well and were very, very popular – but on stage we sound great today.”
Scorpions retiring?
Recently, Rudolf Schenker commented on a possible retirement for Scorpions, and also spoke about his desire for a tour to celebrate the band's 60th anniversary.
Scorpions were in Brazil during the month of April, including for their return from the Monsters of Rock in São Paulo. Furthermore, they released the album Rock Believer , which received good reviews and appreciation from fans.
