Scorpions frontman Klaus Meine has revealed new details about the band's highly anticipated biopic, titled Wind of Change . In an interview with Rolling Stone Brazil , the singer spoke about the band's involvement in the project and the anticipation for the start of filming, which is expected to begin in May 2025.

The film is being developed by ESX Entertainment, an independent production company led by Ali Afshar , who is also an actor and former race car driver. According to Meine, the project is in the hands of a producer who “has a true passion for rock and the history of the Scorpions,” and who wants to create not a documentary, but a fictional film inspired by the trajectory of the German band. “He wants to tell the band's story with heart and soul,” said Klaus. “We are involved in the script and also helped choose the actors. It's not easy to find five Brad Pitts to play us, but we are following everything with enthusiasm.”

The release may coincide with the Scorpions' 60th anniversary.

The film is expected to be completed sometime in 2025, to coincide with the band's 60th anniversary celebrations. However, Meine is cautious about deadlines: “Filming begins in May, but we still don't know when the film will be released. We hope it will be in the fall, but in filmmaking, anything can happen. We are participating, supporting, but there are many variables in the process.”

The film will be directed by filmmaker Alex Ranarivelo , known for American Wrestler: The Wizard . The plot of Wind Of Change will follow the journey of "three unlikely friends whose passion for rock took them from the ashes of post-war Germany to international stardom in the 1980s," according to the production company's description.

For Afshar, the story of the Scorpions has personal value. When his family fled Iran for the United States, the band's music had a transformative impact on his life. "The music of the Scorpions changed my life, if not saved it," Afshar stated. "I want this film to bring some of that inspiration to the whole world."

With production by Christina Moore and Daniel Aspromonte, known for works such as Bennett's War and American Fighter , the project is on track to come to life and promises to celebrate the trajectory of one of the greatest bands in the history of world rock.
