It's happening! After unforeseen events and delays due to the pandemic, Scorpions have finally announced their nineteenth studio album and first of new material since Return to Forever (2015): the album Rock Believer will be released to fans in February 2022.

The band had already released a snippet of an unreleased song on social media , supposedly titled "Seventh Sun." The project was recorded at Peppermint Park Studios in Hanover, Germany, and mixed at the legendary Hansa Studios in Berlin with sound engineer Michael Ilbert .

“The album was written and recorded with Scorpions DNA, with core compositions by [Rudolf] Schenker and [Klaus] Meine . We recorded the album as a live band, like we did in the 1980s,” the vocalist said (via Blabbermouth ).

Initially, the album was to be produced by Greg Fidelman , known for his experience with bands like Slipknot and Metallica , but the impossibility of meeting with the professional made the project completely unfeasible. “It’s very difficult to communicate [online]. But maybe on the next album, who knows? We decided to move forward and do the best we can,” explained Mikkey Dee about the decision to proceed without Fidelman.

The first single from Rock Believer will be “Peacemaker,” which will be released on October 21st. The full album is scheduled for release on February 11th, 2022, but there is still no official cover or tracklist.

The band also announced a US and European tour between March and July 2022 to promote the new album, with the new dates for the Las Vegas residency postponed due to the pandemic. As a support act, Mammoth WVH will open some of the shows.
