Saxon released the second single from Carpe Diem , the band's new studio album, with a powerful tribute to those who died from COVID-19 in "Remember The Fallen".
The song was released this Tuesday, the 11th, with a music video that shows the band in the studio and displays images related to the pandemic period, such as news reports and maps representing the speed at which the disease spread across the globe in the last two years, with more than five million confirmed deaths worldwide, according to the most recent aggregated data from Google .
“I wanted to write a song about Covid, about the people who died, and give my perspective on how it seemed to happen. Certain aspects of all this are quite mysterious and, of course, it’s not over yet, is it? We should all remember those who died as a group of people who didn’t really know why they died, because the information wasn’t there,” said vocalist Biff Byford .
Saxon's twenty-third album will be released on February 4th by Silver Lining Music, see the cover and tracklist here .
