Saxon's lead singer spoke about touring with holograms.

Biff Byford, vocalist of the English heavy metal band Saxon, spoke about hologram tours in an interview with Lords Of Metal . “Well, I don’t really like this hologram thing. I’d rather watch a DVD instead. Luckily, there aren’t many people interested in that sort of thing (…) But I don’t know…the technology has to improve a lot to make it interesting. I think it’s more of a curiosity that people have, wanting to see it, and I’m not sure if they’ll continue to have that curiosity. I don’t know. Personally, I don’t like it. There’s something a little…wrong with me. I’m really not interested in it, to be honest, and I don’t think it’s going to be a big thing. Maybe if they did it in Las Vegas and they put Elvis Presley on it, maybe it would work. Although I’m not sure if Elvis would have liked that.”

Currently, Dio Disciples is touring with a hologram of the singer, and a hologram of Frank Zappa is in production.

Saxon was formed in the 1970s and is considered one of the leading exponents of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. The band has sold over 13 million records worldwide, with 21 studio albums.
