Saxon released the music video for “Madame Guillotine” last Thursday, the 7th. The song is featured on the new album Hell, Fire And Damnation (2024), which was released in January via Silver Lining Music .

“Both this song and the title track were written by me and Brian Tatler ,” declared vocalist Biff Byford . “Actually, it’s very Saxon, so much so that I don’t think anyone else could have done it. I sang as if the guillotine were a person, as if the real guillotine had a bit of a conscience. I love the groove; it has a great groove!” (via Blabbermouth ).

The video, which can be viewed at the end of this article, shows images of the famous torture instrument used during the French Revolution.

The current project, Hell, Fire And Damnation , which follows Carpe Diem (2022), was produced by Byford and Andy Sneap . The latter was also responsible for mixing and mastering.
