History was made in Saudi Arabia. The grindcore band Creative Waste played the first public metal concert in the country's history. The performance is a step forward in the repressive country, which has previously imprisoned musicians for their performances.
Creative Waste is the only grindcore band from Saudi Arabia and has been performing in private venues since 2009.
On October 25, 2019, metal arrived at the Bohemian Art Café in Khobar. “Many bands are afraid to perform, nobody wants to take the risk. But I think doing this is part of the change. The idea was so crazy that we decided to go for it,” said vocalist Fawaz Al Shawaf .
