Satriani sees hope for the group's future.
In an interview on TheGuitCast podcast, guitarist Joe Satriani said that his recent comments about Chickenfoot's inactivity seem to have had an effect. The musician said that after his statement, the band showed openness to working together again. Check it out:
“I think my complaints and foot-tapping had an effect, because things were really bothering me, I was feeling a disconnect between me and the other members. I get asked by journalists 10 times a day what’s going on with the band. When I started really speaking my mind, I realized I gave the other members of 'Foot a jolt. I decided to start writing again and sent Sam some ideas and was very surprised at how quickly he responded with some more creative ideas. And I can say with great happiness that there’s a new song circulating in the band. Chad’s drums are already on it, some vocals from Sam, and I think Mike should add bass and vocals by the end of this week. So it’s possible something new will emerge. I know there’s a song being made and I’m working on a few others. Yes, there’s hope!”
Chickenfoot also features Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, and Chad Smith, and released their latest work, "Chickenfoot III," in 2011.
