Former members played four songs with the band
Guitarist Jeff Loomis and bassist Jim Sheppard, former members of Sanctuary , reunited with the veteran band for a show last Monday, the 5th, in Seattle, Washington, in the United States. The musicians made special appearances during the songs "Taste Revenge" and "Future Tense," respectively.
Sanctuary's current tour is a tribute to former vocalist Warrel Dane, who died on December 13th. He suffered a heart attack while recording his second solo album in São Paulo. Currently, Joseph Michael is the band's lead vocalist.
In 2017, the band released Inception , featuring previously unreleased recordings that predate their classic debut album Refuge Denied (1988). The work includes excerpts from a studio session held in 1986, which were restored, remixed, and remastered by Chris “Zeus” Harris.
Below, watch a visual recording of the Sanctuary show. Sheppard and Loomis participate together in “Battle Angels” (minute 0:22) and “Soldiers of Steel” (minute 4:46). Separately, the bassist plays in “Future Tense” (minute 11:30) and the guitarist in “Taste Revenge” (minute 16:55).
