The Germans' fourth album features a lot of experimentation and psychedelia

Celebrating their second decade in music, the German trio Samsara Blues Experiment explores their experimental rock with touches of jazz, synthesizers, and plenty of psychedelia on their fourth studio album, One With The Universe .

The work should be listened to in its entirety and in the order it is presented for better understanding. It is a psychedelic journey that reflects a paradoxical perception of the universe in which we are complete and conscious beings. The melodies are accompanied by the vocals of Christian Peters , who is also responsible for the keyboard and guitar, bringing to life the powerful lyrics about spirit and consciousness.

One With The Universe begins with “Vipassana,” a track of just over ten minutes that delivers a powerful message about mindfulness, while the melody is driven by groovy guitar and drums. The album continues with the instrumental “Sad Guru Returns,” a progressive rock piece that showcases the trio's experimentation and psychedelia.

“Glorious Daze” changes the album's energy. With a sound reminiscent of gypsy bands from the East, the track exemplifies the care the Germans take with the continuity of their work and highlights the plurality of their psychedelia. This energy is maintained with the fifteen-minute title track. “One With The Universe” is mesmerizing. The song features groove, jazz, and distortions that only Peters, Thomas Vedder (drums and percussion), and Hans Eiselt (bass and percussion) can deliver.

“Eastern Sun and Western Moon” is an experiment in itself. The track perfectly concludes the album with a combination of strength and delicacy that the trio was able to deliver alongside Richard Behrens , who left the band but participated in the recording of the album.

One With The Universe is a journey without a predefined destination, offering unique questions and sensations to the listener. Its cover represents attention to detail – two lovers who connect and become one, creating the universe.

In addition to marking their comeback, One With The Universe is responsible for bringing the band to Brazil. The trio will perform at this year's Abraxas Fest alongside the American band Eyehategod in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Information about the event can be found below.
