After saying that David Lee Roth is "faking it" in his performances because he's "too focused on being a showman , Sammy Hagar now declares that he has "no problem" with the original Van Halen .

In a new interview for The Mike & Carla Morning Show , Hagar again mentioned his relationship with Lee Roth, saying (transcript via Blabbermouth ): “We don’t even have any disagreements. To be honest with you, I don’t have any problem with Dave. I don’t know what he has against me, but I think he feels competitive. I think he feels he needs to raise the Van Halen flag.”

“I had a solo career before Van Halen, I had Montrose and Chickenfoot ,” he continued. “Dave has Van Halen, so I think he has to hold on to that, but I don’t care. If someone told me they didn’t know I was in Van Halen, I’d say, ‘Yeah…’”

Despite his statement, Sammy Hagar recently said he felt Van Halen actively tried to "bury" the Van Hagar during their final tours with David Lee Roth. "The albums [from the Van Hagar era] are all number 1. 50 million records. No matter how proud I am of my solo work, I can't ignore that. It was the peak of my career, but I don't exploit that much," he said.
