Sammy Hagar , former vocalist of Van Halen , was one of the artists invited to perform at the highly anticipated farewell show for Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne , scheduled to take place at Villa Park in Birmingham on July 5th.

During an interview with Loudwire Nights , the former Van Halen member revealed which songs he plans to perform during the mega-event, as well as which ones will feature the eternal Prince of Darkness [transcription via Blabbermouth ]:

“I’m so honored. And I chose to sing ‘No More Tears’ and Tom said, ‘oh, that would be great.’ I’ll sing one more. And then he comes back and says, ‘guess what: Ozzy is going to try to sing five songs, and he wants to sing ‘No More Tears.’ I said, ‘okay. ‘Flying High Again.’ He said, ‘that’s yours.’ So now I’m going to sing ‘Flying High Again.’ If Ozzy changes his mind, I’ll sing ‘Flying High Again’ and ‘No More Tears.’”

During the chat, the vocalist also mentioned that he was one of the first names called by Tom Morello , guitarist of Rage Against the Machine and director of the farewell show, to be part of the mega-event. Furthermore, Morello invited him to play one of his songs during the performance.

“I was offered the chance to sing one of my songs, and I thought about singing 'Rock Candy' (by Montrose), because it's from the same era as Black Sabbath – Montrose and Sabbath are kind of from the same era. So I'm excited,” Hagar said.

Ozzy Osbourne undergoes physical preparation for Black Sabbath's farewell show.

Ozzy Speaks program Ozzy's Boneyard channel and hosted by Billy Morrison , the vocalist revealed that he has started a training routine to prepare for his final performance:

“I’m training hard for this show in Aston Villa. I haven’t done anything for almost seven years. It’s been surgery after surgery. It’s like starting from scratch. I’m focusing on stamina. When you’re still for too long, the first thing you lose is your breath. Believe it or not, I’m doing two three-minute walks a day and also weight training. I need to move,” said Ozzy.
