In a recent interview with Paulo Baron and Regis Tadeu "Por Dentro ," Sammy Hagar not only spoke about his experience with extraterrestrial beings , but also made some rather bitter statements about David Lee Roth , his predecessor in Van Halen.

When asked about the differences between him and Roth, Hagar replied that the other musician does everything for the show and to impress, but that the result is somewhat embarrassing, commenting that he "can't imagine" how Lee Roth feels watching his dancing and stage movements in old videos.

“The difference between us is that I care – I care about everything I do and how it affects people and I care about what they think,” says Sammy Hagar. “What’s important to me is to enlighten and uplift people spiritually and make them happy, make them have big dreams, make them want to be better. I don’t think he cares about that. He’s very focused on himself, very focused on being a showman.”

Sammy Hagar went on to give his opinion on how David Lee Roth presents himself to the public, stating that he considers the musician a strange person. "He's not who he says he is; he's pretending. It's all nonsense. Everything he does is calculated and it's an image," he said.

The singer also talked about the 2002 tour where they were both co-headliners. “I thought it would be fun. I thought, 'If he's all he says he is, we're going to have a lot of fun,' but he wasn't. He was the worst guy to be around. He was never with us. He hides. You never see him. He puts on this mask and shows up saying, 'David Lee Roth has arrived,' and then hides again.”

“I don’t think he’s happy,” Hagar concludes. “He’s never been married, never had a relationship, and no children. How do you live like that? I have no idea. I’m a family man and I love women – women and children. He hasn’t aged well – his voice [laughs]. I don’t know, it’s difficult.”
