Sammy Hagar and The Circle announced their second studio album, Crazy Times, and to celebrate the news, released the album's title track.
Crazy Times will be released on September 30th by BMG and will receive a special vinyl edition on October 28th. The first single, the album's title track, was recorded with producer Dave Cobb at his RCA Studio A in Nashville, USA. You can listen to the song at the end of this article.
Speaking about the collaboration with Cobb, Hagar commented: “Working with Dave Cobb for the first time was enlightening. We went into the studio to record in the fall of 2021, when the world was beginning to emerge from the pandemic bubble we were all living in. The lyrics to 'Crazy Times' came from this newfound freedom we were feeling; the freedom felt unbelievable, but a little uncertain, too. We had to ask ourselves, 'What are we doing here, and what do we want?'”
The legendary singer wrote and co-wrote all nine tracks on the album, which also features the notable cover version of "Pump It Up," a 1978 song by Elvis Costello and the Attractions .
Hagar is accompanied by drummer Jason Bonham , bassist Michael Anthony , and guitarist Vic Johnson .
